Kage, looking at what the golem called Dead Pass, said, "Well, it's better than sandstorms anyways. So Ro, you were saying something about this leading into dragon territory."

"Yes, Kage," Ro rumbled, looking to the pass ahead, "It is written that the Dragon of the Desert Peaks guards this passage, attacking all who pass by. The sages say he is a mad creature with fiery fangs and loves to play tricks on his prey."

Kage says, " Well, I've had tricks pulled on me for too long!" Kage rests one hand on his hilt and begins walking, keeping his eyes slightly covered by his hat while he looks around.

As Kage journeyed into the pass, the high canyon walls seemed to loom above him, as if they might close in at any moment and bury him alive.

Of course, while looking up and ahead, Kage failed to notice the peril of the ground beneath him, and saw a flash begin to erupt from the earth below just in time to have a chance at escape!

Kage, seeing the first blade swing, parrys it with his sheath, but the second cuts him on the arm, letting blood trickle out. As the blood goes down his hands and onto his sheath, Kage smiles as he swings his sword and attacks the guy as a gust of wind blasts from Kage.

"Hey, you're not bad!," the grinning youth acknowledged as Kage near-dodged one of his blades and met the other in a mid-air parry that caused the wind to whistle violently around them.

Jumping back in a gravity defying flip, the so-called Dragon of the East brought his swords before him in an X over his face, the blades suddenly sparking and igniting, "My element is Fire. Let's see how furious a candle gets when you try to blow it out."

With that, he charged forward to attack, the sun hitting the blades just perfect to make them blinding to the naked eye, "Ready for my great attack?! BLINDING BLADES!"

As the blow connected, the Dragon skidded back, holding his now broken rib on one side, completely vulnerable, "Damn! You got me!"

Hanging his head in shame, he let out a small, bitter laugh, "Go ahead and finish me then, but before you do, there's something you should know. I'm not the original Dragon. My name is Bazu, and I'm the current, final successor to a long line of noble bandits that have protected this land. If you kill me, that line ends here and now, along with the only defense the outlying villages have against terrible evils that haunt the desert."
