The Wyrmwraith, still unable to get up, finally begins speaking to Kage in the language of the wind dragons which, to the swordsman's great surprise, he can understand, "Wait! If you kill me, I will simply appear again, stronger than before. Great heroes have tried in the past, but none like you. Let me combine with your spirit. I will grant you my power, and my soul can finally rest after all these years..."



"It might be a trick!," Bazu shouted from the sidelines, "The Wyrmwraith is known for its treachery!"

"No, it's the truth, I swear it!," the Wyrmwraith begged as it lied on its back, clearly helpless against the swordsman's might, "I can unlock your true potential and make you stronger than you are even now. Please! We're both... wind dragons, brother."

Kage looks toward the dragon, now helpless on it's back, says with his sword still out, "What do you mean brothers?"

"Your blood is the same as mine," the Wyrmwraith insisted, "The blood of a wind dragon flows through your veins. How else could a mere mortal have unlocked the Kaze-Ryu? But ah, your power is only a shadow of what might be... what should be yours! Be reasonable, brother, and join with me. Together, we would be a mighty warrior indeed."

Kage, hearing this, shouts to Bazu, " Whadda think?"

"I'm not gonna lie to ya Kage," Bazu kept his wary eyes on the dragon, "He's powerful alright. He might be able to use you once you let him in, but... if he's that strong, we really don't have a chance anyway."

Kage thinks to himself, 'Well, Bazu's got a point, but if he is as strong as Bazu says he is, it's better than the alternative.' Kage looks to the dragon and says, "Okay, brother, how's this gonna work?"

"Very simple, actually," the Wyrmwraith's snout parted in a clear smile at the chance to get out of being slaughtered, "You simply unlock the final step of the Kaze-Ryu, the Kaze-Reiki, and I will infuse your aura with my own, joining us forever."



"Just hope your spirit's strong enough to keep control," Bazu warned.

Kage thinks to himself, ' For my own sake, I hope so too.' With that, Kage begins to focus himself on the rage untill another violent wind erupted and wrapped itself around Kage.

As Kage's aura mingled with that of the Wyrmwraith, a struggle began to see who would control the powerful, new body that emerged.

"For a Chosen One, you certainly have a weak will," a brass voice boomed as the desert sand swept up into the form of a golden, glittering man, "And you, Wyrmwraith, have no shame. If he fails, you will be destroyed too."



"That is a moot point," the Wyrmwraith's voice overlaid Kage's as it spoke out his mouth, "With my newfound power, I will defeat Kel Al'Val and rule the land!"

"I think not," the man held up a hand, and the Wyrmwraith began to feel itself being sucked from Kage's body.

"Stop this!," the wraith ordered, knowing it was powerless to resist.

"Now, are you going to do the right thing and give your power willingly to the Chosen One," the man bellowed his challenge, "Or is it to be another thousand years locked in your cave?"

"Very... well," the dragon snarled, and Kage suddenly regained his senses.

Kage, suddenly looks around and realizes that he has control of his body again. He calms himself down and the winds dissapate from his presence. He turns to the stranger who is now standing before him and says, "I'm not sure what just happened, but I believe I have you to thank." Kage then extends a hand to the stranger.

Smiling knowingly at the young swordsman, the stranger crossed his arms with a hearty laugh, "Well, it was your wish to meet me, after all."



"No... way!," Bazu cried out in surprise, "You're the... The...!"

"If you're going to stutter all day, close your mouth boy," the man quirked a brow.

"Oh! Sorry, I just... I can't believe you actually came down here to save us," Bazu flushed.

"I've done it for less powerful mortals," the mysterious man noted, "And as I already said, if he fails, we all fail."

Kage, seeing the reaction on Bazu's face, says to Bazu, "Looks like you got your audience with the Djinni Sultan after all." Kage looks back to the Djinni Sultan and says, "Now that the wraith is delt with, I believe that the Irfit is next on the chopping block." Kage's face shifts slightly and he thinks to himself, 'Well, now I wish Ro could of seen this.'

"Ah, yes, there is still the matter of Ro's reward," the Djinni Sultan rubbed his beard, "For a noble sacrifice, I mandate that he should return stronger than he died. Am I not a fair sultan? Eh? Eh?"

With another booming laugh, the Sultan raised the sands once more, which formed into a familiar face now sparking with an electric aura.



"It is good to see you again Kage," Ro approximated a smile as he finished solidifying.



As the Djinni Sultan began to fade into the sands, Bazu called after him, "Wait! Do I receive nothing for guiding them to you?"

"Your reward...," the Sultan's voice boomed one last time, "Is still to come."
