At this, the color drained from Tal's face, "Friend? Well, that is... a long time, have I been on the road, and made many friends...?"



"We're all friends here!," Burk wrapped an arm around his two friends with that big, dopey grin it was impossible to stay mad around, "We're home! Let's have a drink, eh?"

"Well spoken!," Tal smiled, walking over with Burk and sitting down by Knuckles.



"A merry house is a House of God," Brother Light observed with a smile, "I believe I shall drink to Helios until I'm quite merry myself!"



"Well, pull up a chair holy man!," Knuckles smirked as he raised a glass freshly poured from the tankard beside him, "Drinks are on me!"

Cellus rolled her eyes and decided to let it go for a moment, "Well, I refuse to be the designated driver," she said with a wry smile, "I plan to get as hammered as the rest of you."

"And now, friends, you're about to find out why Cally won't let me drink with the customers at home," Knuckles grinned as he chugged his glass in a single gulp.



"Ha! That's nothing," Burk chugged in turn, "I'll drink you under the table so fast you'll be seeing through beer goggles for a week!"

"You're on!," Knuckles retorted.

Cellus groaned and rolled her eyes again as she took a sip from her tankard, "I highly doubt this is going to end well," she said, leaning back in her chair.

"You're pretty good," Burk chugged another glass, "But I can beatcha."



"Keep dreamin', greenskin," Knuckles scoffed and chugged as well.

Cellus sighed and took a large gulp from her mug, glaring at the two men, "I'm not going to be helping you when you're both nursing hangovers," she said grumpily.

By this time, a sizable crowd was gathering around the table.

"That's the way!," an old dwarf near the back called, "Right from the gut!"



"Had enough?," Burk grinned stupidly and took another drink.



"Bring it on," Knuckles grinned back and followed suit.

Watching as the two members chugged the ale like there was no tommorrow, Cerys watched and laughed as they started getting a little tipsy after the few drinks they have drank.

"Well this is going to be funny, which will win by either a pass out or will it be a draw..."

'I remember that stuff from the first time i met Mason, and i know for sure that i will not be one that will compete in these games.'

Glancing over to Cellus,
"Well I guess that this will be a knock-down drink-out between these two, and i for one agree they will get whats coming to them when the person wins, they both will actually lose."

Giving out a small laugh at the end and resumes watching the drinking contest.

Cellus grumbled into her mug, "Serves them right," she said to Cerys, annoyed at the two men. What made her even more annoyed is the knowledge that she would of course care for them when they had hangovers and there was nothing she could do to change that.

"My money's on the big human," a half-elf near the dwarf smirked.

"I'll take that bet!," the old dwarf quipped back.



"You're looking a little glazed there buddy," Burk smiled confidently at his next drink.



"Yeah, I'm told it's hard to make out details when you're about to pass out," Knuckles grinned back.

"These guys are like little kids, two drunk, little kids," Cellus said to her other comrades, emptying her mug and waving the barmaid over for a refill.

"In my time with them both, this much have I learned," Tal smiled to Cellus, "A right of passage this is, as grave a test of mettle as any battle. Two of the same breed, Knuckles and Burk are, and a pecking order, established must be."



"I could do this... all...," Burk didn't finish his sentence as he slumped over the table.



With a grin that radiated confidence, Knuckles sat back and took another drink, "And that's how we do it downtown."

At this, the pub erupted into applause and cheers.

"This is what I was afraid of," Cellus muttered, pushing back in her chair, after downing her second mug (to help her deal she told herself). She nimbly slid around the onlookers to Burk's side, "Burk, Burk!" she called slapping his face lightly, "He's out like a light," she said to the group, leaning against his slumped form.

"He'll be okay," Knuckles nodded Burk's way, "That guy's got an iron stomach. The best I've drank with in awhile."



"Incidentally, has anyone seen the swordsman?," Brother Light looked around, and sure enough, Kage was nowhere to be found.

Cellus looked around the crowd, standing wobbly on her tiptoes as the lightweight grasslander began to feel the effects of the alcohol. "Where could he have gone off to?" she said, as she reached for her tankard again.

"Had enough, dear Cellus, perhaps you have?," Tal steadily guided the tankard away from her hand with a gentle smile before looking to the others, "See him come in, I did not."



"Come to think of it, me neither," Knuckles scratched his head in thought as he sat back in his chair, "I figured he was waiting outside with Spooky."



"I will locate him," Brother Light offered, "And in the meantime, perhaps, our star ale chugger could ask about the local lore?"

"Huh? Oh! Right," Knuckles stood up with a dopey grin and walked over to the table with the dwarf and the half-elf.

"Please excuse me then," Brother Light gave a small bow and walked out.

"I guess everything's taken care of," Cellus said looking down at Tal, "And no, I believe I have not had enough," she said, making a move to retrieve her mug that only suceeded in her tumbling into her fellow grasslander's lap.

Deftly catching his friend, Tal blushed heavily at the awkward positioning, "Alright... are you?"

Cellus looked up at him with a sultry smile, making no move to change her position, "Fine, in fact, never been better," she said with a giggle, a blush, not of embarassment, but of intoxication covering her cheeks.

"Knuckles...?," Tal blushed even heavier, "Your help, perhaps, I could secure in getting Cellus to a safe room while I pay for lodging?"



"Have fun buddy," Knuckles patted the grasslander on the shoulder with a knowing smile as he passed toward the table in the corner, "So, I guess I made one of you guys a little richer tonight..."
