Mirage (Kage Manako)

Kage scratches his head, completely suprised about the answer given.

"Ok, I think I understand.....so, how do I get back to the "source", if I understand correctly, would be the timeline I come from?"

"Hm, still thinking in only two dimensions I see," Ro Tar shook his head sadly, "The answers will come in time. For now, this timeline, as you call it, needs your assistance. I'll be in touch."

With a laugh that would have seemed good-natured if Kage didn't already distrust the guy so much, Ro Tar vanished, a slight chime in the wind echoing his departure.

Kage shakes his head, " Well, that was what I needed, just not like that. "

"There's a bit of a change in the wind, says I," a salt-bearded dwarf smiled knowingly as he walked up to Kage, "You're not from around these parts, no doubt of that, but I'm guessin' ya dinnit answer no call to action as this Chosen One neither. No sir, you're a hero of fortune. I can see that as plain as the katana at yer side."

Kages looks to the dwarf and says, " Yeah, I didn't choose to be here, but....." Kage rests his hand on his katana and looks away to the city, "...Since I'm here, might as well do some good and lend a hand any way I can."

"So, Hero, I understand this do-gooding is to take place at the Temple of the Heart in the center of the city," the dwarf replied, "And you're sure it's Dol making the trouble?"

Kage looks to the dwarf and says, " Dol is blowing up the temples, but there is another who has been getting the parts, and if he gets the heart......it won't be good."

"Sounds as if you've had dealings with the culprit before," the dwarf huffed.

Kage said, " I haven't dealt with Dol myself, I have a friend who has, though he did say Dol got away...." Kage grips his hilt slightly, "....But I think Knux will be mad that I get to him first."


Kage looks up at the sky, and thinks, ' I hope I can meet back up with them soon.'

At that moment, the ship was rocked with a sudden, blinding sandstorm. Several crewmen dropped to the deck floor, screaming and holding their eyes in pain.



Pulling up a hood, the dwarf steadied himself, "Hold your positions men! Steady as she goes!"

Kage pulls his hat over his eyes to shield himself from the sandstorm, and grabs his sword, ready for anything.

As the storm picked up, the sails tore, and the ship itself careened out of control, throwing Kage and many others into the sky itself!

Kage says, " Oh great, trying to fly without any wings, sounds smart to me,"

Kage grabs his sword and faces down, seeing the ground come speeding up to meet him, when the ground almost catches him, Kage says,
"Let's hope this works." Kage focuses, and swings his sword at the ground, blasting his wind down at the ground to slow his desent.

As Kage pushed back against the storm, the friction acted a new front moving downward in collision with the original one, causing a rotation to begin. Within moments, the world around seemed to crash apart with an ear-splitting noise like a train like a train whistle blowing at full blast.

When it was over, all Kage could see was smoke for several minutes. Then the wreckage, littered with broken bodies, began to unfold.

Kage looks around and sees the destruction around him, he says, "Well, that move has been nothing but trouble."

Kage, with his katana sheathed, grabs his hilt, knowing that something must be done about the problem at hand. Kage looks up back to the direction of the temple. He also looks back to the boat, hoping the others made it out alright in the storm.

"Wow, what a mess," an amused voice called from atop a pile of rubble, and Kage looked up to see a heavily tattooed man, at least he appeared to be a man if not for the ethereal glow to his eyes, completely coated in dust, "You sure let those temple thieves know who was boss though, hehehe."

Kage looks to the roof at the tattoed man and says, while he grips his hilt, "What's so funny?"

"Oh, come now," the man tittered in response, that impish grin seemingly pasted on his face, "Don't be modest. In attempting to buffet yourself from a storm, you created an even bigger storm. You have to admit, it's comically ironic."

Kage, with absolutely no sense of humor for what just happened, says, " ironic, yeah," Kage smiles to the point of being just creepy. " Funny, no."

"Ever the stalwart avenger!," the man emboldened his voice in a sing-songy manner and half-posed to mimic Kage's mannerisms as he did so, then blew him off with a dismissive wave and the closing of his eyes.

"You hero types are so predictable," he opened his eyes and stood with impeccable balance, "What if I told you that you could undo all this damage with a single sentence? What would you say to that?"

Kage looks to the tattoed man, rasies an eyebrow, and says, " Why couldn't you say it?"

"Who says I can't?," the man quipped in turn, his smile getting bigger, "Maybe I just find it appropriate that the Chosen One save the city he himself destroyed."

Kage thinks to himself, 'This guy does have some points, though I don't ever said I was the Chosen One.'


He looks back at him, and asks, " This sandstorm your doing?"

"Not my handiwork," the man replied with a blunt edge that was still somehow laced with the humor he found in all this, "Is it to be a game of questions then?"

Kage, not sure who is guy is, or his connection to any of this, thinks, 'Hmm... I'm not sure about this guy, but...'


Kage says, "So, what was that sentence you were talking about?"
