Low Profile, High Stakes (Ash City Alts)

The town of Marrowbrook had changed little since the olden days. Every bit a sleepy hamlet, it was the perfect place to get away, especially if you happened to be in need of a place to hide.

As a dark-robed, fair skinned man with a nymphet on his shoulder and a flawless blonde beauty strode into the tiny tavern of that tiny town, they could never have guessed what trouble had just walked in the front door.

Heat sighed. "Hmm Nobe, are you drinking to night or is it just me?"

"It's not as if the ale will effect me," the necromancer retorted with a glum expression, "But my throat is rather dry."

"A drink would be nice." Zelina chimed in.

As the lot of them sat down to have a drink, all seemed peaceful enough, that is, until Nobe suddenly glared toward one corner of the bar.



"I smell cookies," he growled.

Solvek, sure enough, was tempting no less than two of the barmaids - one on his lap and one he had tethered in by the backside with his hand - with offers of cookies ...and other pleasures.

Heat snuck up behind Solvek and took a bite out of the cookie in his hand. "Mmm. Ogre cookies."

"Hello love!," Solvek tossed the wench off his lap and patted the spot he'd just cleared for her, "Haven't seen you in a stretch. I've got more cookies if you like. Just reach into my bag!"

The nymph rolled her eyes. "Boy, can you make it any more obvious..."

"If you were a little bigger, I'd have a spot for you," Solvek grinned roguishly, "Nobe doesn't let you out much, does he?"

"Can't blame a girl for having some taste in men," Nobe retorted as he took a drink, "By the by, whatever happened to that strumpet you ditched me for last week?"

"Why, I showed her a good time and sent her on her merry way," Solvek waved him off, "It's what I do best."

"You do appear to have mastered the art of leaving them," Nobe offered backhandedly.

"Hmm, thank you but no Solvek. I'd have to agree with Nobe, you just leave too much. Much too unpredictable fro me" Heat winked and sat on the barstool behind him before tapping a nail on the bar top. "Bartender." She called in a sing-song voice.

"Well hey there pretty lady," an unsettling old gnome with a glass eye leaned over from behind the bar, "What'll ya have?"

"Um, Something pink and fruity....a Strawberry Daiquiri." Heat smiled and quirked an eyebrow.

"Comin' right up!," the old gnome went back to pour a drink, turning to Solvek after he'd served her, "So, will it be a ruffie coolatta for your guests as usual?"

"You've resorted to knocking them out have you?," Nobe quirked a brow.

"Oh don't worry, they'll be knocked back up soon enough," Solvek assured him.

Even Zelina was disgusted by that one. "Just shows you have no actual skills when it comes to women. Tsk, having to resort to drugs to have sex.. Pitiful.."

"The quiet ones are more attractive," he threw an indignant glance her way, "I rest my case."

"A bit sexist," Nobe smirked, "But with a shre-wife like yours, I can see how you'd draw that conclusion."

"Incidentally, did you know you're a marked man for more than family abandonment now?," the necromancer inquired, "Seems the lot of us are."

Heat giggled. "Oh the thankfulness of being a woman." She grinned up at the celling.

"Careful you never run into an untamed succubus." The nymph grinned evilly. Oh, if only she was full size.. she'd show that silly little boy what a real demon could do.

Heat stretched innocently. "Its too bad he could be useful in the future." Heat sighed. "I'm bored." She mumbled. "Oh boys," Heat called into the bar. "I'd like some entertainment, maybe a fight?"
